About the Role

The Apprentice Plumber role with Penrith City Council involves completing a Certificate III in Plumbing over a 4-year period. As a member of the Public Spaces Maintenance (PSM) team, you will assist the Council's Plumber in planning, coordinating and maintaining Council buildings across the city. The role requires commitment to ongoing training, flexibility and multi-skilling within the PSA area to develop and maintain professional industry skills and competencies. The successful applicant must be available to commence by the end of July 2025.

Essential Criteria
  • A willingness to undertake and complete a Certificate III in Plumbing
  • An interest in pursuing a trades industry career in plumbing
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Class C Driver Licence
  • Willingness to obtain a Work Safely in the Construction Industry (WorkSafe White Card)
Commencing Salary

$43,024.80 - $49,280.40 plus 12% superannuation and an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award dependent upon your age.

Employment Checks

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position. If a Criminal History Check indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review to progress through the recruitment process.
