Position Overview

We're seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Pastry Chef to work in our retail team at our flagship in Thirroul. In this role, you will bring our baked goods to life during busy periods. You will work kitchen shifts and uphold the product quality to the highest standard.

Cook Skills Required

  • High level pastry chef skills
  • Solid work ethic, you will move fast
  • Attention to detail and experience building new recipes
  • Ability to cope with stressful service periods
Key Responsibilities

In Kitchen Shifts

  • Perform quality baking shifts for 38 hours each week, executing the SOPs to a high level
  • Prep non baking items for our menu
  • 5 days per week 5:30am-1:30pm
  • Participate and engage in informative training sessions

Mentoring and Support

  • Provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to staff, addressing their specific challenges and helping them develop their skills.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment, promoting growth and confidence in coffee preparation.

Marketing

  • Particiapte in content shoots and provide feedback on the brand
  • Work with the ops manager to develop new business in the neighbourhood

Customer Interaction

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and professional interaction during shifts.
  • Address any feedback or questions from staff with professionalism and expertise.

Operational Support

  • Support the development of internal training initiatives and contribute to overall team development.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a breakfast cook
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Passion for coffee and food and a commitment to sharing knowledge with others.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 12kg ( a box of coffee or crate of milk).
  • Capable of managing the physical demands associated with training sessions and café environments.
