We are looking for a skilled and detail-focused Statistician to contribute to active research projects in the physical, life, and/or socioeconomic sciences. In this role, you will deliver expert statistical analysis and technical support, including designing data collection protocols, managing and manipulating datasets, system programming, and producing insightful reports. Your contributions will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and value of critical research outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans and documents computer data file structures; develops, programmes, manages, and maintains complex statistical databases; performs or supervises data entry.
  • Selects data samples, prepares questionnaires and surveys, and conducts logic checks to uphold data quality.
  • Uses established statistical software and a range of standard methods to gather, analyse, and interpret data for research applications.
  • Formats data and prepares reports, charts, tables, and related visual materials to communicate findings.
  • Collaborates with fellow statisticians in designing studies, developing statistical methodology, and executing data analysis.
  • Assists with project planning and coordination alongside clients and internal teams.
  • May supervise students or data entry personnel on assigned research tasks.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; minimum of 2 years' experience in a role directly aligned with the listed duties and responsibilities.
  • Additional completed degrees from accredited institutions may be considered as equivalent experience on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Proficient in designing, programming, and managing complex statistical databases.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in applying statistical techniques to support scientific research and data modelling.
  • Competent in data formatting, reporting, and interpretation.
  • Understanding of programming logic and data structures.
  • Familiarity with statistical sampling and survey methodology.
  • Experienced with tools such as SAS or similar statistical software.
  • Competent with common software such as databases, spreadsheets, word processors, and presentation tools.
  • Deep knowledge of statistical research processes, methods, and best practices.
