Holy Cross Invites dedicated and experienced Home Economics Assistants to join our innovative and dynamic team in preparing agile thinkers equipped with the skills to thrive in a changing world.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support a welcoming and inclusive teaching and learning environment that supports student wellbeing and confidence
  • Collaborate respectfully with students and staff, offering guidance and encouragement during practical lessons
  • Contribute to the holistic development of students by nurturing life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and resilience
  • Support students with diverse needs by adapting resources and providing practical assistance during classes
  • Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources to support the delivery of food and nutrition curriculum
  • Assist teachers during practical classes to ensure safe, engaging, and effective student participation
  • Support curriculum delivery through resource organisation, recipe preparation, and alignment with learning outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to support assessment, audits, and compliance with educational standards
  • Support and uphold the Catholic faith, vision and mission of Holy Cross College in all practices.
  • Model Gospel values such as compassion, respect, and integrity in interactions with students, families, and staff.
  • Ensure that all interactions align with the Bishops of WA Mandate and the College's Vision and Mission fostering a learning environment that honours the dignity of each person and promotes stewardship, hospitality, and care.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of food, equipment, and consumables to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Order supplies in consultation with the Learning Area Leader – Technologies, maintaining budget awareness
  • Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of food items in line with food safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to health regulations and risk management procedures
  • Report faults or hazards promptly and contribute to the upkeep of equipment and facilities
  • Other duties as directed by the Principal or delegate.
