Job Description
Are you detail-oriented, organised, and ready to play a key role in supporting environmental testing services? Join our Cairns team as a Sample Receipt Coordinator, where you'll be part of a dynamic laboratory environment ensuring the smooth processing and management of soil, water, and air samples.
This role is critical to maintaining our laboratory's high standards of quality and timely service, from handling incoming samples to supporting routine and non-routine analyses.
What you'll be doing
In this role, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Receiving, identifying, and labelling incoming samples with accuracy.
- Conducting sub-sampling and preparing samples for courier dispatch.
- Storing and disposing of samples in line with procedures and compliance requirements.
- Monitoring and recording storage fridge temperatures.
- Ensuring samples remain contamination-free throughout the log-in and sub-sampling process.
- Supporting laboratory QA/QC standards and safe working practices.
- Using safety equipment appropriately and maintaining a safe workspace.
- Maintaining skills and knowledge through training and on-the-job development.
- General housekeeping duties to support smooth laboratory operations.
- Assisting the Sample Administration Manager with additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
- A relevant tertiary qualification (preferred).
- Previous experience in a commercial laboratory environment (preferred but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
