Job Details

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is seeking an experienced 
Salesforce Technical Lead
 to join the Platform Engineering team supporting a major government digital transformation program.

This role requires hands-on Salesforce technical expertise combined with leadership capability to guide development teams in delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead for Salesforce delivery, providing guidance and oversight to developers and administrators.
  • Design and review technical solutions across Salesforce clouds (PSS, Sales, Service, Experience) and custom applications.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical designs.
  • Lead code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure quality across deliverables.
  • Support the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and structured release management for Salesforce components.
  • Mentor team members and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with government security, privacy, and accessibility standards.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.

Essential Criteria

  1. Extensive hands-on experience in Salesforce development and solution design, including Apex, Omnistudio, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and declarative tools.
  2. Strong understanding of the Salesforce security model, data architecture, and sharing rules.
  3. Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage delivery in complex environments.
  4. Familiarity with version control and CI/CD practices.
  5. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Experience working within a Platform Engineering or enterprise technology team.
  2. Familiarity with government digital service standards and compliance frameworks.
