We're looking for a motivated, proactive, and hands-on Store Manager who is passionate about retail and ready to take the reins in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.


About the Role

As Store Manager, you'll be the face of Jim Murphy's — leading the day-to-day operations, mentoring our team, and ensuring every customer leaves impressed. You'll need to be confident, organised, and ready to jump into any task — from managing stock and displays to motivating staff and delivering outstanding service.


Hours & Roster
  • Full-time position
  • Standard store hours: 9am to 6pm
  • Rotating weekend roster (including some public holidays)
  • Enjoy 1 rostered day off (RDO) per week

What We're Looking For
  • A valid RSA certificate (ACT)
  • A current Driver's Licence
  • Previous experience in retail management, ideally in liquor or hospitality
  • A strong customer-first mindset and great communication skills
  • Physically capable of manual handling tasks (cases of wine can weigh up to 16kg)
  • Tech-savvy with solid POS and basic admin experience
  • Someone who leads by example — punctual, energetic, and ready to get stuck in

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the store's daily operations with a hands-on approach
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Monitor stock levels, process orders, and ensure correct merchandising
  • Maintain compliance with liquor licensing laws and safety standards
  • Ensure store presentation, cleanliness, and standards are upheld
  • Conduct deliveries across Canberra when required
  • Handle rostering, reporting, and general admin duties
