Mechanical Engineering Apprentice - Fitter & Machinist

Who are we?

L.E.S is an Australian owned Company that has been servicing the industry in mechanical breakdown repairs and engineering for over 26 years, L.E.S Performs Repairs and Overhauls of Gearboxes,

Fluid Drive Couplings and a large variety of mechanical apparatus plus a wide range of machining. Our clients are from a diverse range of industries such as mining, steel, timber, power, construction, food, lift & transportation.

About the role

We are now seeking applications from enthusiastic and proactive people wishing to commence a career in modern engineering as a Fitter/Machinist Apprentice at our Newcastle site service and repair facility.

This role will be full time. You will gain on-the-job experience working in factory and onsite and will be fully supported by L.E.S in studying towards a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade at TAFE.

Requirements of the role and personal attributes

  • Completed a minimum of Year 10 School Certificate
  • Awareness and commitment to health and safety requirements
  • Self-motivated with a desire and willingness to learn
  • Be comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Have a positive "can do" attitude and sound communication skills
  • Ability to think through a problem and come up with solutions
  • Be a generator of ideas and ability to think outside the square

  • Have a good attitude, sense of humour and the ability to get along with people at all levels
