Mars Recruitment is partnering with a well-established financial services organisation to recruit a Senior Risk and Compliance Manager on a 6-month contract basis. This is a key role in strengthening enterprise-wide risk and compliance frameworks, managing incidents and breaches, overseeing AML and controls assurance programs, and leading a small, high-performing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, commercially minded professional to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead incident and breach management, including RG78 and APRA reporting.
  • Oversee AML/CTF program activities and remediation of findings.
  • Maintain and enhance the enterprise risk register, including mapping risks to controls.
  • Deliver the risk and controls assurance testing program.
  • Prepare risk and compliance reports for the Board, Audit & Risk Committee, and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Manage internal audit processes and regulatory engagements as required.
  • Support ongoing APRA and ASIC compliance activities.
  • Lead and develop team members, including the Risk and Controls Business Partner and Compliance Analyst.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Investments, Operations, Legal, Technology, and PMO functions.
  • Drive a culture of proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and accountability.
Key Requirements:
  • 10+ years' experience in risk or compliance within superannuation and investment management (superannuation experience essential).
  • Strong compliance skill set: incident/breach management, control assurance, and risk reporting.
  • Solid understanding of APRA and ASIC regulatory frameworks (e.g., SPS220, CPS230, RG78).
  • Experience managing teams and mentoring staff.
  • Hands-on experience with risk systems, e.g., Tickit (advantageous).
  • Demonstrated ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification, ideally RG146 compliant.
