A leading consultancy is seeking an Integration Designer to support a major transformation program within the Defence sector. The program is entering its implementation phase following an in-depth discovery stage, and two experienced professionals are required.

This multi-year initiative focuses on modernising engineering and product lifecycle systems. The successful candidate will work within a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, product managers, and change specialists to help finalise integration designs and support the delivery of complex, scalable integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business and functional requirements into actionable integration specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and architects to refine high-level integration designs
  • Define test cases and support formal integration testing activities
  • Optionally contribute hands-on to the build phase or support implementation teams
  • Ensure integration designs meet both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Participate in workshops to validate and document integration approaches

Key Requirements

  • Solid understanding of system integration principles, including:
  • API design and consumption
  • Broken message handling & Synchronous vs asynchronous integration models
  • Experience in designing or working from integration specifications and depth with no-code/low-code integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft)
  • Exposure to middleware tools such as OpenPDM (or similar)
  • Strong documentation and collaboration skills using tools like JIRA and Confluence
  • Knowledge of PLM, ERP, or CAD systems is highly advantageous

Additional Details

  • Location: Remote (Australia-wide)
  • Travel: Occasional national travel required; expenses covered by client
  • Security Clearance: Must be an Australian Citizen; NV1 clearance preferred (can be sponsored upon commencement)
  • Team Structure: Growing integration team within a larger program delivery function
