The Role

Senior Software Engineer provides technical and people leadership for software development initiatives within the R&D team, managing a team of 2-3 developers while contributing to high-level architectural and cross-functional decisions. This role combines hands-on development expertise with team leadership, ensuring delivery of complex software solutions across the product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Leading Technical Innovation: You'll drive our architectural decisions and technical strategy, working directly with our Head of Engineering to shape how we build software. From AI-powered features to modern development practices, you'll be at the forefront of what's next.
  • Growing Great Developers: Managing and mentoring isn't just about code reviews - you'll conduct performance evaluations, create development plans, and help your team members reach their potential. Plus, you'll play a key role in hiring the next generation of talent.
  • Building High-Performance Platform: Design solutions that scale, lead innovation projects, and ensure our software is secure, fast, and maintainable. You'll help us build our new cutting-edge platform

Key Requirements

  • 6-10 years of software development experience

  • 2-4 years of technical leadership or team management experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Technology/Computing (Bachelor's degree preferred)

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency Advantage to Have

Technical Expertise

  • Expert-level C# and .NET development with hands-on coding experience

  • Cloud experience – Azure/AWS

  • Strong grasp of APIs, database architecture, and cloud computing

Leadership Skills

  • Clear communicator with both technical teams and business stakeholders

  • Proven ability to develop technical capabilities and drive career growth of team members

  • Experience driving adoption of new technologies and approaches
