Senior Health and Safety Consultant

Your Responsibilities

As the Senior Health and Safety Consultant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Provide expert consultancy and timely advice on workplace health and safety matters, with a strong focus on managing and preventing OVA and psychosocial hazards.
• Support schools and workplaces to assess, prevent, mitigate and manage safety and psychosocial risks and hazards.
• Coordinate the delivery of training, workshops and resources to strengthen staff capability in responding to OVA and creating psychologically safe workplaces.
• Analyse data and trends relating to workplace injuries, incidents and hazards, including psychosocial risk factors, and lead evidence-based interventions.
• Investigate and support the resolution of serious incidents, ensuring compliance with legislative and departmental requirements.
• Partner with leaders and staff to foster a culture of respect, safety and wellbeing across all service areas.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and contemporary practices, particularly in relation to psychosocial risks, workplace wellbeing and occupational violence prevention.
• Ability to build strong relationships and engage with staff at all levels, including school leaders, to drive safe and inclusive workplace practices.
• Confidence in leading investigations, interpreting data, and applying evidence to develop targeted solutions.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and promoting a culture where staff feel safe, supported and valued.
