
Waste & Resource Recovery Officer

Make a real difference for our community and the environment We're seeking a motivated Waste and Resource Recovery Officer to help deliver council's waste and sustainability initiatives.
In this varied role, you'll manage projects, support services, and engage with the community to reduce waste and promote practical, long-term environmental outcomes.
Key responsibilities- Deliver and evaluate waste and resource recovery projects that reduce waste and support sustainability.
- Support the implementation of council's strategic actions and sustainability initiatives.
- Assist with contract management, reporting, budgets and data collection.
- Develop community education and engagement programs to promote positive waste practices.
- Provide advice and support to residents, stakeholders and industry partners.
You'll bring a degree in environmental science, sustainability, waste management, project management or a related field, together with strong project management and communication skills.
Experience in the waste and resource recovery sector, or in developing and delivering sustainability programs, will be highly regarded. Just as important is your ability to collaborate, engage with the community, and translate strategy into practical results.
What we offer you- Base salary between $92,004.56 and $102,268.53 will be offered (dependent on skills and experience) + 13% superannuation
- The role is permanent full-time (Total 37.5 hours per week)
- Rostered day off every month
