Disability Support Worker

Supporting Independent Living Co-Operative (SILC), a not-for-profit provider, is seeking experienced and passionate Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated team at My House Oatlands in Rydalmere.
We are seeking skilled and confident Disability Support Workers to join our team and provide person-centred care to two young men (ages 23 and 25) with Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex support needs. This role requires strong communication skills, calm decision-making and the ability to implement behaviour support strategies consistently and safely.
About the Role:
You will support residents to follow structured routines, increase independence and participate meaningfully in daily life. The role includes:
- Supporting daily living skills and personal care
- Implement proactive and reactive behaviour strategies
- Providing community access and skill-building opportunities
- Following comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
- Accurate documentation and consistent communication with the support team and family
- Following medication administration requirements, including PRN administration
Shifts are available across weekdays and weekends:
- 7:00am - 3:00pm
- 3:00pm pm
- Active awake overnight shifts (10:00pm-7:00am) may be offered to workers who demonstrate a strong understanding of the residents' needs and the ability to work with them safely and confidently.
Additional shifts are available across holiday periods, with potential for ongoing regular shifts for the right applicant.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 2+ years' experience supporting people with autism and complex behaviours of concern
- Ability to remain calm and implement de-escalation techniques during high-intensity incidents
- Confident working independently while following detailed support plans
- Understanding of restrictive practices and commitment to safe, ethical implementation
- Strong communication and adaptability to each individual's needs
- Patient, respectful and committed to improving quality of life
- Physically capable of working safely during challenging behavioural incidents
- Current NSW driver's licence and reliable, insured vehicle
- Availability for a variety of shifts, including weekends

Essential Requirements:
- Current NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- NSW Driver's Licence
