ABOUT UNIONS TASMANIA

Unions Tasmania is the peak body for trade unions in Tasmania. For over 140 years, we have been giving a voice to working Tasmanians and their families. We represent approximately 50,000 union members, across the private and public sector, in workplaces big and small.

Unions Tasmania has been funded to implement an information and education capability in Tasmania, covering metropolitan, regional and remote locations, where temporary migrant workers are employed. Unions Tasmania has partnered with the Migrant Worker Centre (Victoria) and the Immigration Advice and Rights Centre (NSW) to deliver this project.

Project activities include:

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on communication activities, including media coverage, digital analytics, and campaign reach
  • Actively participate in the national community of practice led by the Migrant Workers Centre, sharing Tasmanian perspectives and ensuring national collaboration informs local work
