We're looking for an experienced
Test Manager
to lead testing activities for one of our key
government customers
in Canberra. This is a strategic delivery role that requires strong leadership, deep technical testing expertise, and the ability to work confidently with senior business and technology stakeholders.


Your Impact

As Test Manager, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end testing function for a high-profile digital transformation program. You'll develop the testing strategy, lead test planning and execution across multiple streams, and ensure quality outcomes are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing
    program-level testing strategies
    in partnership with delivery and change teams.
  • Leading and coordinating test activities across multiple technology workstreams.
  • Overseeing
    backend API testing
    and complex system integrations.
  • Providing leadership, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across program governance forums.
  • Ensuring test practices align with
    Agile delivery
    principles.
  • Championing best-practice quality engineering and risk-based testing.


Essential Criteria

  • Australian Citizen (Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1)
  • Must be Canberra based or willing to relocate.
  • 10+ years dedicated testing experience
    and
    5+ years in test leadership roles
    .
  • Demonstrated test leadership within
    large and complex government digital transformation programs
    .
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience developing
    program-level testing strategies
    in collaboration with delivery and business change teams.
  • Proficiency with
    Microsoft Test Manager
    ,
    Jira
    , and
    Azure DevOps
    .
  • Strong experience with
    Backend API testing
    (REST, JSON, XML).
  • Strong experience with
    .NET applications and websites
    .
  • Proven experience working in
    Agile delivery environments
    .


Desirable Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Test automation skills.
  • Experience with
    ServiceNow applications
    .
