You'll drive the development and implementation of Sydney Airport's Safety Management System (SMS), integrating Work Health & Safety (WHS), and Aviation Safety requirements. You'll be responsible for board-level safety inputs, system audits (ISO 45001 and MOS Part 139 SMS for Aerodromes), and the delivery of insights that influence both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic direction.

  • Lead and guide your team in the delivery of Safety & Wellbeing Strategy projects that deliver lasting change and improved safety culture among our people and airport community.
  • Provide strategic direction and support for SMS assurance programs, ISO 45001 certification, while integrating systems across aviation safety, risk, and safety domains.

  • Support the business through expert system and compliance advice, stakeholder engagement, and board-level safety reporting and insights.
  • Manage and coach a team of specialists across systems, training, and insights, promoting a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure digital learning systems and reporting platforms (e.g., , Safeguards) are optimised to support compliance, provide meaningful data insights, and enable transparent governance.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or a related field; safety or integrated management systems auditing certification essential.
