We are seeking a Procurement Officer to support one of our key Defence clients.

You will be responsible for executing sourcing activities, purchase order administration, supplier engagement and contract support across allocated categories of spend. Your work directly supports the organisations procurement strategy and operational requirements through timely supply of goods and services, effective supplier management, and strong commercial discipline.

Key responsibilities
  • Execute full-cycle low/medium-risk procurement activities
  • Prepare purchase orders, manage vendor invoices and processing
  • Support supplier qualification, sourcing, and contract management
  • Maintain savings registers and supplier performance data
  • Ensure best-value-for-money outcomes and risk-aware sourcing
  • Work within procurement governance, policy, WHS and legal frameworks
About you
  • Minimum 2 years' procurement experience in defence, manufacturing, or resources
  • Experience in supporting category management, contract management and sourcing
  • Strong communication and negotiation capability
  • Skilled in MRP systems (IFS desirable) and Microsoft Office
  • You will be a fast learner who enjoys operating in a high paced environment
  • Eligible for Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1) and ITAR

This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, process-driven, stakeholder-friendly, and ready to build their procurement capability in a high-impact environment.

Our client is offering a 12 month fixed term contract for an immediate start. You will be supported by a great team and and flexible working conditions.
