Your role

As a Associate Engineer in our Land Infrastructure Team, you'll take a leading role in shaping the future of the land infrastructure sector. You'll work at the interface of clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams, providing trusted technical and strategic advice while ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard. Your insight and influence will help clients navigate complexity and achieve outcomes that are both practical and sustainable.

What you'll be doing
  • Project leadership – Drive the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, maintaining involvement from bid and tender through to successful completion.
  • Client engagement – Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building relationships, understanding priorities, and shaping innovative solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Technical excellence – Bring expertise across roads, earthworks, drainage, and general civil infrastructure, ensuring design quality and compliance with key client and authority standards.
  • Team development – Mentor and guide engineers, designers, and drafters, sharing knowledge and fostering capability growth within the team.
  • Strategic collaboration – Work closely with colleagues across Aurecon's disciplines to integrate technical, commercial, and sustainability perspectives into project outcomes.
  • Thought leadership – Contribute to industry conversations and Aurecon's reputation for delivering complex infrastructure with purpose and care.
What you'll bring

You're more than technically strong — you're strategic, commercially aware, and client-focused. You'll be comfortable leading conversations in the boardroom as well as on site, and motivated by the opportunity to influence outcomes at scale. You'll also have:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 12-15+ years' experience delivering complex civil infrastructure projects, ideally including client-facing or leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of key client and authority standards (e.g. Main Roads WA, PTA, mining clients, Local Government, Service Authorities)
  • Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities
What we offer
  • Equitable salary and enhanced superannuation
  • Flexible work arrangements and paid working holidays
  • Extended parental and cultural leave flexibility
  • Wellbeing programs for you and your loved ones
  • Development pathways, mentoring, and tailored leadership support
