- be responsible for planning own work goals and priorities that align with and achieve both own and team outcomes, and work collaboratively with other team members to ensure team objectives are met, assisting in planning and managing projects and meeting agreed timelines
- attain, maintain and apply your knowledge of the Civil Aviation Act 1988, Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998, Civil Aviation Regulations 1988, and associated standards policy and practice, CASA decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulations
- build and maintain effective relationships internally within the Communications branch and with other business units within CASA such as National Operations Standards Division and the Legal, International and Regulatory Affairs Division, as well as externally with contractors and other suppliers
- maintain and promote guidance material including safety information, education and training materials, advisory circulars, web-based information and other duties as required
- promote workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace in accordance with CASA values and behaviours
- work supportively and cooperatively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to achieve shared outcomes.
Ideal Candidate

- be able to interpret a range of document types to bring technical information together in meaningful content for the specified user
- be able to develop and structure large documents considering the nature of the technical content and the knowledge of the reader
- have excellent command of written English, be familiar with writing to a style guide, have at least intermediate word skills and have meticulous attention to detail
- have a proven ability to work with minimal assistance, taking ownership of tasks and guiding/supporting others in the team as required
- have suitable people skills to develop new relationships between the section and other areas of CASA
- have strong organisational skills and the ability to contribute to continuous improvement of the product and the processes within the section
- be able to demonstrate and exercise both initiative and judgment in the provision of accurate technical knowledge and advice in a specialist discipline (relevant to your role), achieved through the exposure to CASA's policies and procedures
- be able to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful and equitable manner
- promote workplace safety, equity and diversity, and act in accordance with the CASA values and behaviours.
