CAD Draftsperson – Sheet Metal

Full-time | Brisbane Southside | Monday–Friday

F&M Fabricators is a leading sheet-metal fabrication company specialising in custom roofing and architectural components. From bespoke flashings and rainwater goods to precision laser-cut and folded metalwork, we deliver high-quality products across Queensland's construction and architectural sectors.

We're seeking a CAD Draftsperson – Sheet Metal to join our growing team. This role would suit either an experienced CAD operator or a practical tradesperson looking to move into a drawing and design position. You'll play a key part in turning ideas and sketches into accurate, production-ready files used on the shop floor.


The Role

  • Produce and modify 2D CAD drawings in Radan for sheet-metal manufacturing
  • Translate sketches, samples, and concepts into detailed production drawings
  • Prepare DXF and cutting files for Laser and Turret Punch machines
  • Work closely with the fabrication team to ensure parts are practical and precise
  • Contribute to improving design processes and production efficiency

About You

  • Experience with Radan or similar CAD software (training provided for the right candidate)
  • Solid understanding of sheet-metal fabrication and layout principles
  • Ability to interpret sketches, measurements, and technical drawings
  • Hands-on mindset and interest in seeing designs through to finished products
  • Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn in a supportive environment

Hours & Conditions

  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Friday: 7:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Overtime available at penalty rates
  • Full-time, permanent position
