Your new role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Planner to join our maritime division supporting key defence initiatives at Garden Island. This role is critical to ensuring the successful planning, scheduling, and performance tracking of complex, multidisciplinary projects in a high-security environment.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, applying PERT and Critical Path Method (CPM) techniques.
- Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) frameworks, including Performance Measurement Baselines (PMB), variance analysis, and forecasting.
- Lead schedule risk assessments and contribute to project control reporting using Power BI and Excel dashboards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and construction to ensure alignment with project milestones.
- Prepare and support Extension of Time (EOT) claims in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Conduct forensic schedule analysis and contribute to monthly performance reports and client presentations.
- Support resource planning and levelling, including histogram development and workload forecasting.
- Participate in client and internal meetings to present progress updates and identify risks and opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in project planning within infrastructure, civil, or defence-related sectors.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Power BI.
- Strong understanding of EVM, project controls, and schedule variance analysis.
- Experience preparing EOT claims and conducting delay analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work in a high-security, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Diploma or higher in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Formal training in Primavera P6 and MSP.
- Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain a Defence Security Clearance.
