The Project: HumeLink East
Genus Infrastructure (NSW), in partnership with Acciona, is proud to be delivering the HumeLink East project—part of a $1.4 billion joint venture. This major initiative involves the construction of 237 km of 500 kV transmission lines between Bannaby and Wondalga in NSW, along with enhancements to the Bannaby substation.

This project is a vital component of the broader HumeLink development, designed to boost grid capacity, support Snowy 2.0, and facilitate the integration of renewable energy across NSW. Construction commenced early in 2025, with completion expected between 2026 and 2027. It will create approximately 1,600 jobs and include a $2 million investment in local communities, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship and stakeholder collaboration.

The Opportunity
The HR & IR Manager will be based at the Joint Venture office near Haymarket in Sydney. We are seeking a highly experienced HR & IR Manager to lead both strategic and operational human resources and industrial relations functions for the HumeLink East Project.

In This Dynamic, Large-scale Construction Environment, You Will

  • Oversee the mobilisation, engagement, and management of a diverse workforce across the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with project leaders, contractors, and corporate teams to deliver HR solutions aligned with operational and compliance requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance on industrial relations, including union engagement, dispute resolution, and enterprise agreement compliance.
  • Champion a positive site culture focused on safety, respect, and performance, while supporting long-term workforce development and diversity outcomes.

Key Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Construction White Card (OH&S Safety Induction).
  • 8–10 years' experience in HR/IR roles within infrastructure, construction, energy, or resources sectors.
  • Proven track record on major projects valued at $500M+.
  • Experience managing regional or remote workforce deployment.
  • Strong understanding of NSW industrial legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage unionised environments and engage with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with FIFO/DIDO workforce models and associated HR/IR considerations.
