About the role

We are looking for an innovative leader to fulfil the role of Leisure Centre Manager to strategically manage the operations of Swan Active Midland and Ellenbrook Sports Hub. Reporting to the Manager – Leisure Services, the Leisure Centre Manager will be responsible for providing clear direction to ensure that the Swan Active programs, activities and services are relevant in meeting the current and future health and well-being needs of the community.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

  • The effective planning, overall management and operations of one or multiple multifunctional leisure centre/s
  • The position is required to manage projects across Swan Active facilities and service delivery and is responsible for budgets, assets, resources and staffing for centre/s in line with the City's strategic direction
  • The position requires well established and highly effective communication and interpersonal skills in order to successfully interact, influence and negotiate successful solutions with a wide range of internal and external customers
  • Oversee all aspects of occupational health and safety, risk management and statutory compliance associated with the centre/s operations and service delivery
  • Champion the City of Swan and Swan Active vision, purpose and values ensuring that behaviour reflective of these is modelled, encouraged and recognised.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Degree in Leisure/Recreation Services Management, Business Management or similar industry experience
  • Substantial experience managing a multi-functional leisure facility including a diverse range of programs and services.
  • Current Senior First Aid
  • Pool Managers Certificate and current Industry Accreditation
  • Current 'C' Class Drivers licence
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The salary for this position will be from $126,154.59 to $146,964.04 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
