The Critical Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (CI-ISAC) Australia is a not-for-profit company with its National headquarters in Maroochydore, QLD. CI-ISAC Australia is the only cyber intelligence sharing community focused on owners and operators of Australia's Critical Infrastructure and material suppliers.
The community's mission is to help ensure the cyber resilience and continuity of Australia's Critical Infrastructure by supporting entities to share information and provide central supporting capabilities to protect against malicious cyber acts.
As a not-for-profit, member-driven and supported organisation, CI-ISAC serves its members and all Australians by building a trusted, self-sustaining cyber community. Innovative technology, resiliency resources and industry peer-to-peer networks are leveraged to anticipate, mitigate, and respond to cyber threats.
OVERVIEW
As part of CI-ISAC's continued expansion, we require a second engineer to join the Technology team. You will work as part of the broader technology function, reporting to the Technical Capability Lead.
We seek someone with an aptitude for cyber and intelligence analysis, who is able to work effectively as part of a self-managing intelligence team. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with a diverse set of nationally distributed stakeholders both within and outside of CI-ISAC.
This role is ideal for builders who are passionate about writing clean, scalable, and efficient code, solving complex challenges, and contributing to a high-performing, product-focused team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will be doing:
Develop and maintain our member-facing web application and internal tools to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
Design and implement scalable solutions for our intelligence platform, focusing on data collections, automation and integration with the member-portal.
Influence architecture decisions and establish best practices to drive technical excellence within the engineering team.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
Optimise performance and scalability, ensuring platforms can efficiently scale with membership growth and support real-time operations.
Enhance system reliability, security, and maintainability, building a robust and resilient infrastructure.
Engage in technical discussions and decision-making, shaping the evolution of CI-ISAC's technology stack.
Test, debug, and deploy new features, maintaining high standards in software development and delivery.
Success Criteria for this role:
Full-Stack Development Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Svelte) and back-end technologies (e.g., , Python).
Large-Scale Web Application Development: Proven track record of building, deploying, and maintaining complex, large-scale web applications.
Database Expertise: Knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL) and scaling database platforms for performance.
Cloud Services & DevOps: Hands-on experience with the AWS cloud platform, ideally with experience deploying infrastructure as code.
API Design & Implementation: Strong expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs with a focus on secure authentication and authorisation.
CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices and tools for automated build, test, and deployment processes would be beneficial.
Cybersecurity Awareness: Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, with experience developing secure applications and protecting against common vulnerabilities.
Analytical Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess technical debt and prioritise solutions based on business needs.
Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The experience required to apply for this role are:
At least 5+ years of prior work experience across relevant technologies, or with a strong portfolio to demonstrate your abilities (GitHub, CodePen, JSFiddle).
Demonstrated experience in a lead full-stack engineering role
Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts/threats to non-technical audiences
