We are developing a Well Review Automation System — a state-of-the-art platform to ingest, analyse, and visualise drilling and well data, extract lessons learned, identify performance opportunities, and generate actionable insights. This will involve data science integration, advanced ML models, intuitive dashboards, and a powerful Graphical User Interface (GUI) for end users.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer with experience in building data-intensive applications, integrating ML/AI pipelines, and delivering interactive dashboards. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying both front-end and back-end components of the Well Review Automation System.

You will work closely with data scientists, petroleum engineers, drilling experts, and UI/UX designers to bring this product from concept to deployment. Your work will directly contribute to improving well planning, execution, and risk management in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable front-end and back-end architectures for the Well Review Automation System.
• Machine Learning & AI Integration: Collaborate with data scientists to deploy hybrid ML models (e.g., combining physics-based and data-driven approaches) into production environments.
• Data Pipeline Development: Build secure, high-performance APIs to handle structured/unstructured drilling and subsurface data from multiple sources.
• Dashboard & GUI Design: Create interactive visualisations, performance dashboards, and report-generation tools tailored to drilling and subsurface engineering workflows.
• Automation Workflows: Implement automated ingestion, processing, and reporting pipelines for offset well reviews and risk analysis.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure solutions comply with industry data security and privacy standards.
• Testing & Deployment: Write unit/integration tests, manage CI/CD pipelines, and oversee deployments to cloud/on-prem environments.
• Collaboration: Work in Agile sprints with geoscience, drilling, and data science teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Back-End: Experience with Node.js, FastAPI, Django, or Flask for API development.
• Front-End: Skilled in responsive, interactive UI development and visualisation libraries (e.g., D3.js, Plotly, Chart.js).
• Databases: Proficiency in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Elasticsearch).
• Machine Learning Integration: Experience deploying ML models into production (MLflow, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn).
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• DevOps: CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), containerisation with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Domain Understanding: Exposure to Oil & Gas workflows, drilling operations, or engineering data is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline.
• Experience in energy industry software (drilling, well engineering, or production optimisation tools).
• Knowledge of probabilistic risk analysis and data visualisation in engineering contexts.
• Familiarity with WITSML, LAS, and industry-standard drilling data formats.
