Overview / Role context
We are looking for a Senior Mobile / Full Stack software engineer to join our supportive and collaborative engineering team. This role offers technical authority and autonomy, with a fast-paced, product- and engineering-driven environment. You will work with a small internal team on mobile projects and experimentation, with direct engagement with the VP of Product Strategy, CTO and CEO.
What you will be doing
Work with the mobile team on two mobile products and their backends — developing new features, fixing bugs, and re-architecting core components.
Contribute to architecture decisions and to long-term technical vision.
Build and ship impactful features across our two mobile products and their backend services, from architecting new features to improving performance and code quality.
Mentor junior engineers and review PRs.
Contribute improvements to developer experience (tooling, CI/CD, monitoring).
Share knowledge with peers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and informal mentoring.
Responsibilities / Challenges
Handle technical complexity in mobile products that appear simple to users, including shared components across multiple apps and backend services for mobile clients.
Adapt to a fast-moving environment and rapidly learn new systems and domains.
Align with a culture based on core values and standard operating procedures while bringing thoughtful improvements.
Skills and experience (ideally)
Javascript/Typescript experience is preferred.
React Native experience is preferred.
Node, Serverless & AWS experience is a bonus.
MongoDB & DynamoDB experience is a bonus.
Native mobile experience is a bonus.
Compensation and benefits
Compensation Range: A$160K - A$220K
