
Engineering Team Lead

We're looking for an enthusiastic Technical Team Lead to be part of our multi-disciplinary engineering team that will be designing, developing, and deploying Fullstack and AI systems that drive Digital and Agentic AI Automation within the property buying and owning, mortgage broking and financial services sector. You will work at the intersection of AI, data, software engineering, and financial services, building cutting-edge solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer experiences.
You will be reporting to the Head of Engineering, working side-by-side with a high performing, knowledgeable and fun team. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact on our long-term vision to expand our digital platform across the enterprise.
Responsibilities Leadership in Engineering Excellence: Spearhead a team of exceptionally talented engineers, guiding them in their career progression, supervising performance management, ensuring competitive remuneration, and fostering continuous learning and development.
Strategic Contribution to OKRs: Shape and provide feedback on the team's Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). In collaboration with the Engineering Manager, assess and strategize the technical direction and goals, aligning with broader organizational objectives.
Agile Methodology Advocate: Lead the adoption of strong Agile practices within the team, driving continuous improvement and elevating performance and efficiency.
System Ownership and Solution Design: Own significant components of the system, designing and delivering robust, fault-tolerant solutions that are high-quality and stable.
Full-Stack Software Development: Develop full-stack, scalable software that forms the backbone of our technology solutions.
Code Quality and Best Practices: Promote clean, maintainable code geared for continuous integration and deployment, championing software guidelines and best practices.
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Designers in a cross-functional agile team to ensure holistic success.
Cultivating Ownership and Responsibility: Instil a "you build it, you own it" mindset and lead the engineering rhythm from planning to deployment and support.
Mastering Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly articulating ideas in writing and speaking.
Qualifications At least 2 years of experience leading technical teams building products and services in a distributed architecture. Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of engineers (5+) in an agile context with emphasis on delivery.
Strong ability to communicate with technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders.
Proven proficiency in conflict resolution and fostering a positive, collaborative environment.
Experience guiding teams in adopting and effectively using AI-powered tools to enhance engineering outcomes.
Deep understanding of JavaScript, distributed systems architecture, cloud infrastructure, and continuous delivery; while not purely hands-on, ability to understand the team's technologies and communicate with technical stakeholders.
