Board Directors (3 Positions) – St John Ambulance Victoria invites three accomplished professionals to join our Board of Directors, bringing senior-level expertise in Finance, Technology/Digital, and Fundraising/Sponsorship. For over 140 years, St John Ambulance Victoria (SJAV) has been saving lives and building resilient communities through first aid. As one of Victoria's most trusted not-for-profits, we deliver high-quality first aid training, event health services, emergency response and community programs reaching more than 300,000 Victorians each year.
We are now inviting three accomplished professionals to join our Board of Directors, bringing senior-level expertise in Finance, Technology & Digital Innovation, and Fundraising & Sponsorship. This is a rare opportunity to apply your strategic leadership and industry knowledge to an organisation that makes a profound and tangible difference every day.
We are seeking three new Board Directors to bring high-level expertise in Finance, Technology & Digital Innovation, and Fundraising & Sponsorship. These roles are perfect for seasoned executives eager to apply their skills to a meaningful cause and help shape the future of a respected Victorian charity.
As a Board member, you will provide strategic oversight, champion good governance, and offer expert advice in areas vital to the organisation's long-term success.
A Finance leader with CPA, CA, or equivalent qualifications, and extensive experience in financial governance, risk management, audit oversight, and strategic financial planning.
A Technology and Digital innovation expert with expertise in digital transformation, IT systems, cybersecurity, data governance, and leveraging technology to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
A Sponsorship and Fundraising specialist with a proven track record of growing philanthropic income, building corporate partnerships, and leading impactful brand, donor, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
You don't need to be a professional Board Director, but you should bring strong leadership, sound judgement, and a collaborative mindset to strategic decision-making. Above all, you'll share our commitment to service, integrity and community impact, contributing curiosity, expertise and balanced perspectives to Board discussions.

Time Commitment
Board meetings: ~3 hours monthly (10 meetings/year)
Board Sub-Committee: additional meetings as required (2-hour blocks)
Strategic planning & Board development: up to 2 days annually
