We are seeking a hands-on, technically proficient Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Design & Project Engineering team working across a diverse range of minerals processing projects. This is an opportunity to take on a key role in the delivery of high-quality engineering outcomes while contributing to both greenfield developments and sustaining capital projects.
Reporting to our Principal Mechanical Engineer & Group Manager your key responsibilities will cover (but not limited to):
Performing design calculations for minerals processing plants, including flotation, carbon-in-leach circuits, pumping systems, and conveyors.
Delivering engineering packages including datasheets, equipment specifications, layout development, and drawing reviews.
Applying sound design theories, principles, and practices to practical project outcomes.
Providing a working knowledge of bulk solids handling and conveyor design.
Managing and delivering multiple small projects concurrently.
Supporting construction and commissioning activities on-site as required.
Qualifications & Skills Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
10 years experience in the mining and minerals processing industry, particularly with gold and copper projects
Strong technical background – capable of reviewing and guiding design outputs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and time-management skills with an ability to juggle priorities across several smaller-scale projects
Commitment to safety in design and design for constructability principles
Exposure to greenfield and brownfield project environments
Familiarity with Australian and international engineering codes and standards
