Overview Database Reliability Engineer (Remote, AUS) – CrowdStrike
Location: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia
Join CrowdStrike to contribute to a mission-driven team that protects people, processes and technologies. We work on large-scale distributed systems with a focus on data plane services and automation in cloud environments.
What You'll Do Maintain a deep understanding of data components including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL and PostgreSQL, and operate and automate properly configured clusters.
Understand operating databases in Kubernetes and manage container images.
Develop infrastructure services to support a DevOps approach for CrowdStrike engineering teams.
Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Support to troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues, regardless of when they occur.
Ensure petabytes of critical business data are safe, secure, and available.
What You'll Need Configuration management (Chef)
Scripting in Python and Bash
Experience with large-scale datastores using Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and MySQL
Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments
Experience operating within the cloud, preferably AWS, GCP and OCI
Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams
Strong decision-making skills, especially under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication
Independent yet collaborative with the prudence to ask for help when needed
Bachelor's degree in CS, CIS or Engineering
