We are looking for senior and experienced youth workers who can commit to regular hours on a rotating roster in permanent full time, permanent part time or casual employment, supporting children/young people who live in out of home care with varied care needs.
**About The Role**:
We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Shift Mentors / Team Leaders to join our team in supporting children and young people in Out of Home Care (OOHC). These positions are available on a permanent full-time, part-time, or casual basis, working across a rotating roster.
In this leadership role, you will work in close partnership with Program Managers and House Managers to support the day-to-day care of young people, while mentoring other carers to deliver trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate support.
The role is based on the Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency (ARC) trauma recovery framework and plays a vital part in helping children and young people heal, grow, and achieve their goals.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and mentor a team of a carers to deliver therapeutic, person-centred care.
- Oversee the implementation of individualised care plans and routines.
- Function as a key contact in day-to-day operations, escalating issues where needed.
- Foster strong working relationships with children, families, and stakeholders
- Promote recovery, wellbeing, and life skill development in line with trauma-informed models.
**What We are Looking For**
You are a confident leader and experienced youth worker with a passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people. You are resilient, organised, and thrive in a team environment.
**Ideally, you will have**:
- Demonstrated experience in a **leadership or mentoring role**within youth and residential care.
- Strong understanding of **trauma-informed practice**and working across a continuum of need.
- Ability to **motivate and support staff**while ensuring quality care outcomes.
- Experience working with children and young people in **OOHC**or residential settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Cris management experience and sound decision-making under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and computer literacy skills
- Experience in **mental health and disability**settings (highly regarded)
**Requirements**:
- Diploma in Youth or Community Services or related field (e.g., educations, allied health, disability, community services, or human services)
- NSW Working with Children Check
- Evidence of Australian Working Rights
- National Police Check (Less than 12 months olds)
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid / CPR Certificate
- The Required NDIS Modules
- 2 Relevant Reference Checks
