At headspace Early Psychosis, Canberra, we’re passionate about early intervention and recovery-focused care for young people aged 12-25 who are experiencing or at Ultra High Risk of psychosis. Backed by the world-renowned Orygen EPPIC framework, we deliver evidence-based, recovery-oriented support that changes lives.
About the Role
As our Community Development Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in building stronger, more supportive communities for young people and their families. You’ll lead, support, and evaluate strategies that:

- Raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health
- Empower communities to better respond to mental health needs
- Strengthen referral pathways and local networks

This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by shaping how the community understands and responds to youth mental health.
Role Overview
- Promote our service to increase awareness of mental health and available supports
- Coordinate and participate in community events, interagency groups, and partner meetings
- Facilitate information sessions with GPs, schools, local health services, and community organisations
- Develop engaging resources, activities, and events for young people and their families
- Build strong collaborative partnerships to create safer, more connected communities

**Selection Criteria**:

- Tertiary qualification in health promotion, social work, psychology, community development/engagement or a Cert IV Mental Health
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience
- Strong understanding of mental health promotion and messaging
- Demonstrated ability to deliver community development initiatives and build partnerships
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence

**Even better**:

- Experience working with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples, CALD communities, or LGBTQI+ young people
- Strong collaborative relationships with government and non-government organisations).
