Security Advisor - Threat Management | Monitoring, Detection & Alerting systems|
- Permanent Role $ 190,000 (base + super) + 15% bonus
- Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane ( 3 days WFH, 2 days in the office)

Hawksworth are now hiring for a
**Security Advisor - Threat Management** to join a large Financial Organisation. You can be based in
**Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane**, with the flexibility of working in the office 2 days of the week and working the rest from home.

You will provide industry leading technical expertise and take responsibility for the delivery of many of the team’s key operational areas and projects.

You will provide deep technical knowledge and hands on experience with multiple areas of the team’s operations, including (but not limited to):

- Monitoring, Detection & Alerting systems
- Incident Response
- Technical Investigations
- Hunting Activities
- Threat Intelligence
- Automation & Orchestration

As the Security Advisor, you will also be expected to operate as a thought-leader who is able to own, influence, and drive various aspects of security throughout the organisation.

The role may focus on multiple aspects of the security portfolio, including (but not limited to):

- Security Threat Management
- Security Operations
- Security Policy, Standards, and Frameworks
- Security Controls and Risk Assurance
- Security Technology Design

You will perform an essential role as coach and mentor to staff and management, whilst providing security leadership and direction to technical and business staff members on significant initiatives and driving a security-aware culture.

**Qualifications**
- Current Industry Technical Qualifications are desirable.
- At least 10 years hands-on technical IT Security experience is desirable, substantial hands-on technical IT Security experience is mandatory.
- Experience leading incident response, running high performance detection/alerting systems, and performing technical investigations is extremely desirable.
- Experience with technical hunting activities and threat intelligence is extremely desirable.
- Experience with some or all: detection and alerting, incident response, technical investigations, hunting, threat intelligence, automation and other related tools and technologies is mandatory.
- IT and IT Security experience within a large organisation is desirable.
- Specialised knowledge of the tools, tactics, techniques and processes of attackers is desirable.
- Active participation in industry IT security groups, forums, and information exchanges is desirable.

**Technical Capabilities**:

- Technical knowledge of enterprise level security platforms, including: Firewall, WAF, data leakage, anti-malware, IDS/IPS, Proxy, and packet capture technologies.
- Experience with Encryption and Authentication concepts or systems.
- Knowledge and commercial experience with industry standard security practices.
