**_The opportunity_**:

- At AsureQuality our Biosecurity surveillance team provide services to help protect New Zealand against exotic pests and disease incursions and this is an opportunity for you to be on the frontline of this battle._
- In this role you will_
- Deliver biosecurity surveillance monitoring for projects such as MPI National Invasive Ant Surveillance programme (NIAS), pest plant management, ecological restoration work and Fruit Fly eradication.
- Provide protection at high-risk sites such as farms, sea-ports, airports and transitional facilities
- Ensure quick accurate reporting at likely contamination points for pests and exotic species.
- Other biosecurity monitoring activities could include_
- _Site inspection,_
- _Trapping/surveillance work,_
- _Data recording and sample handling_
- _Assisting with scheduling, data entry, health & safety compliance and reporting._

**_About you: _**:

- Please be aware this is a Full Time Permanent Field Officer position based out of the AsureQuality office in Gisborne. The working requirements will be an 80 hour fortnight._
- To be considered for this role will require_

- _The ability to use phone app and computer technology_
- _A strong health and safety focus_
- _Previous experience in Biosecurity is highly desirable but not essential._
- _A full, clean New Zealand drivers licence is desired but not essential_
