Internal Communications Specialist

**About the role**

We are looking for a talented Internal Communications Specialist to work with a diverse team of creative, brand and communications professionals to engage and inspire our 6000 strong, geographically dispersed workforce. Your mission will be to develop an intimate understanding of the diverse group of incredible people that make up our business, and their communication needs, to help share news, information and inspiring stories from across our business.

You will:

- Develop internal communications plans and campaigns in line with communications strategy
- Develop regular, engaging content and news stories for internal communications channels including the intranet, newsletters, screens, internal apps and others
- Manage the company intranet, MinRes Connect, including keeping all news and business pages up to date, ensuring accessibility across our sites, and developing reports on usage and uptake
- Support the development of the new employee onboarding website and manage content updates
- Manage the fortnightly employee recognition program - MinRes Marvels
- Compilation and distribution of the Weekly newsletter - The Round-up
- Developing and managing a communications “community of practice” to encourage regular sharing of news and information across our sites and offices
- Design attractive, captivating content for office and site digital signage and presentations
- Introduce and manage two-way communications and feedback channels to encourage employee conversations and manage feedback
- Support site communications with content development, graphic design, editing and / or proofing content.
- Measure, monitor and report on internal communications KPIs

This position reports directly to the General Manager - Change and Internal Communications, with a high level of influence, autonomy and support at a senior level.

**What you’ll bring to the team**
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a similar role or related field
- Experience in the development of internal communications strategies and plans
- Long form content development experience
- SharePoint or intranet development experience
- Experience working with a multi-disciplined team to create compelling content that connects people to the business journey
- Experience engaging with geographically dispersed or site-based stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Basic graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop and Canva
