**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Ipswich Girl’s Grammar School is one of ten high performing schools included in Queensland’s premier schoolgirls’ sporting competition, the QGSSSA. Sporting excellence is a key focus of the school’s growth strategy, and we are currently seeking Cocurricular Sport Coaches across a range of disciplines to support the 2025 School year, including:

As a sports coach your primary role will be to provide expert training for athletes. You’ll be assisting their skills development and ensuring peak performance and fitness are achieved during crucial times, i.e., competitions, tournaments, matches, trials, and qualifying events.

The Cocurricular Sport Coach is paid on a casual basis (minimum two-hour shifts). Coaching commitments are usually a minimum of four hours per week which comprises at least one training session and one game play per week. Pay rates vary according to age and qualifications and range between $22.00 - $50.00 per hour.

These positions will ideally suit experienced coaches who possess relevant and current coaching qualifications, and a current Paid Queensland Working with Children check (Blue Card).

**WHAT YOU WILL BRING**

To be successful in this role, you will be a person who is professionally competent and brings a passion for sport to the School, and
- Assist the Director of Sport by acting as Coach and strategically planning the training program that develops individual and/or team skills and the schedule of the sport.
- Be punctual and prepared for training sessions and matches, always providing professional supervision of players.
- Have a passion for your sport, working with young people and the involvement of students in sport.
- Provide reports on player performance and team organization at the end of season to the relevant sport Coordinator.
- Offer individual, constructive, and positive feedback regularly to players to help them improve performances
- Be a positive, optimistic, and enthusiastic leader with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Liaise with players and the Coordinator in response to:

- Training sessions
- Team Selection
- Conduct of players and/or teams
