**About the Business Unit**:
Adoption Services is part of the Civil and Enforcement Services Group of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

Adoption Services delivers a range of services under the _Adoption Act 1984,_ including counselling to people considering placing a child for adoption, assessing people to be approved to adopt a child from Victoria or overseas, and providing records to people who have been affected by past adoptions.

**About the Role**:
The Team Leader, Adoption Support Unit will be responsible for a small team of administration staff who provide administrative support, record searches and high-quality records management across Adoption Services.

Operating within a complex and dynamic environment, this role requires a capacity to exercise sound judgement, and the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, using influence and negotiation skills to support the provision of clear advice to support effective and timely actions.

Some of your duties will include:

- Managing the Adoption Support Unit that provides administrative and corporate support
- Providing operational advice to the business and unit and support the administrative aspects of project work
- Facilitating the processing of requests for records by liaising with stakeholders and conducting complex searches

**About You**:

- Knowledge of and/or experience of adoption services or associated fields and/or knowledge of similar systems
- Knowledge of and/or experience in Victorian Government administrative processes and policy development, implementation and evaluation
- An ability to quickly acquire knowledge of policies, procedures, services and systems is essential.
- Qualifications/Requirements:_
- A tertiary qualification in business, communications, or relevant areas, is desirable.
