
Residential Care Worker

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and emotional support individuals with disabilities in a residential setting.
- Conduct assessments to identify client needs and develop tailored care and support plans.
- Assist clients in accessing education, training programs, and community resources to enhance their development and independence.
- Collaborate with health, welfare, and education professionals to provide comprehensive support services.
- Monitor and document clients’ progress, ensuring a high standard of care and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Facilitate social and recreational activities that promote clients’ well-being and inclusion.
- Ensure the safety, security, and cleanliness of the residential environment.
- Address emergencies and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all client interactions.
**Requirements**:
- **Experience**: At least 2 years of full-time experience in a similar role, or a relevant qualification with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- **Qualifications**: Certification in Community Services, Disability Support, Social Work, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children and individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and welfare regulations.
- Flexibility to work in a rostered environment, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
**Desirable Skills**:
- Experience in developing and implementing care plans.
- Knowledge of cultural diversity and the ability to work with clients from various backgrounds.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
**A bit about you**
- You are a disability support worker with previous industry experience
- You have great communication skills
- You have experience working with challenging behaviours and mental health
- Experience and ability to develop a positive relationship with participants and support their Individual Support Plan
- A Certificate III in Disability or other relevant qualifications or you are working towards obtaining this qualification within 12 months.
- First Aid and CPR certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Yellow Card or current Yellow Card
- Driver's licence, reliable car and comprehensive insurance
- Experience and willingness to complete personal care

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
