As a Casual Retail Assistant at CORE OPTIQUE in Bowral, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service and support in the optical retail environment. You will assist customers in selecting eyewear products, offer style advice, process transactions, and ensure the overall satisfaction of our clientele. This role is crucial in maintaining the reputation of CORE OPTIQUE as a trusted provider of high-quality eyewear and optical services.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Customer Assistance**:Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere in the store.
Assist customers in choosing eyeglasses, sunglasses, and other optical products that suit their needs, preferences, and prescriptions.
Provide expert advice on frame styles, lens options, coatings, and other optical accessories.
Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and friendly manner.

**Sales and Transactions**:Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
Upsell additional products such as lens enhancements, protective coatings, and accessories.
Handle cash, credit card, and digital payment methods efficiently.

**Frame Merchandising**:Arrange and display eyewear frames in an attractive and organized manner.
Ensure that products are properly tagged and labeled with accurate pricing and details.
Monitor inventory levels and notify management when restocking is needed.

**Product Knowledge**:Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion, lens technologies, and optical products.
Provide accurate information about lens materials, coatings, and other optical features.
Educate customers on the benefits of different lens options based on their visual requirements.

**Store Maintenance**:Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the store, including the sales floor, display areas,
Perform routine cleaning and dusting to ensure a pleasant shopping environment.

**Appointment Scheduling**:
Assist customers in scheduling appointments for frame styling and fittings.

**Team Collaboration**:Collaborate with fellow team members to achieve sales targets and maintain excellent customer service standards.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and managers to share customer feedback, operational insights, and ideas for improvement.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Previous retail experience, preferably in the optical or eyewear industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of eyewear fashion trends, lens options, and optical terminology.
- Basic computer skills for processing transactions and using the point-of-sale system.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and inventory management.
- Customer-focused attitude and the ability to create a positive shopping experience.
- Flexibility to work on a casual basis, including weekends and holidays.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $21.53 - $35.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Point of Sale (POS) software: 1 year (preferred)
- Working towards sales targets and KPIs: 1 year (preferred)
