As Head of Government Relations you will manage government relations engagement, which includes oversight of related processes, reporting and providing specialist government relations guidance and advice. Your role supports Lifeblood achieving its objectives set forth in the Deed of Agreement with the National Blood Authority and includes additional consultation and engagement with Australian governments.

You will play a lead role in developing government briefs, proposals and engagement strategies. This will also involve interpreting and communicating government stakeholder requirements for Lifeblood management and teams.

This role is a true blend of both strategic and tactical work and will require a broad focus across the organisation. As well as requiring strong consultation with internal stakeholders, particularly with Senior Managers across the business, the critical business writing for the purpose of government communication and to ensure they are tailored to government audiences. Bachelor’s degree level qualifications in a related field such as Business, Political Science, Legal or Social Science

Demonstrated experience relevant to government relations in a regulated environment

Significant experience in stakeholder management with strong influencing skills and ability to build relationships with all levels of Government

Proven experience advising senior leadership on Government policies, guidelines and strategy

Determination in seeking opportunities to improve practices and processes to achieve outcomes more efficiently and effectively

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity reporting into the Director, Strategy and Government Relations. The role has one direct report and is based in Melbourne with flexibility to work from home and the office as part of our hybrid model.
