Henry Sugar is looking for a talented Supervisor to join our tight-knit team.

We’re a high level neighbourhood wine bar/restaurant in Carlton North slinging independent booze, natural wine, craft beer and cutting edge modern Australian food championing native ingredients curated by our Head Chef Ex Attica, Cutler & co.

Our vibe is, everything in house, from scratch and local where possible. We primarily focus on sourcing from small scale producers, learning Australian where possible in regard to spirits. The wine list has diversity from old world European to natural local champions. We don’t stock coke or any mainstream sodas, instead preferring to brew and ferment our own fruit-based sodas in house.

You will have a minimum of 1 year working in a supervisory/ management role and skills in the following areas:

- Passion for native Australian produce and natural wine, with a focus on championing the little guys-small producers, farmers, brewers and distillers
- WSET & Cicerone qualifications considered favourably
- Knowledge of wine is essential
- Previous experience in similar environment
- Track record of being able to direct a team
- Excellent communication skills
- An eye for presentation and cleanliness
- Experience with Impos is a plus
- Full right to live and work in Australia
- References essential

This is a Full-Time position, with a roster of 40 hours per week. Overtime is Paid, Super + Tips, Two days in a row off.
Being a neighbourhood wine bar, we don’t operate late nights, the rare 1am finish here and there but expect between 11-12 on a normal day.

That said, work life balance is really important to us so there is always flexibility in your hours.
