DESF provides staff to various SIL Providers in WA with services from administration to disability support workers.

**Description**:
As a Disability Support Staff member at Disability Empowerment and Support Foundation, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to individuals with disabilities in the Perth Area. position within the Support Staff department offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need.

**Key Responsibilities**: - Providing personalised care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort. - Supporting individuals with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility assistance. - Assisting in the implementation of individual support plans and monitoring progress towards set goals. - Engaging clients in social and recreational activities to promote social inclusion and overall well-being. - Maintaining accurate records of client interactions, progress, and any incidents or concerns that may arise.

**Main Tasks**: - Delivering high-quality care and support services tailored to each individual's specific needs and preferences. - Collaborating with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective coordination of care for clients. - Upholding confidentiality, dignity, and respect for all individuals while promoting independence and self-determination. - Responding promptly to emergency situations or challenging behaviours using appropriate techniques as per established protocols.

**Skills and Experiences**:

- Experience working with people with disabilities in a support capacity
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with individuals with diverse needs and abilities
- Understanding of disability rights and advocacy
- Ability to provide physical and emotional support to individuals with disabilities
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to supporting individuals with disabilities
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations related to disability support services
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs of the individuals being supported

First Aid Certification,

Current CPR Certification,

NDIS Screening Certificate

Manual Handling Certification.

A Current Drivers License

On the job training will be provided to gain further certifications highly sought after for employees in the disability support Role.
