**As the Assistant Under Treasurer**: Energy, you will lead the Energy Division within Queensland Treasury to deliver on the state's commitment to deliver an affordable, reliable and sustainable energy sector. This pivotal role will enable you to foster economic growth through innovative strategies and shape policies for long-term sustainability.

**In this role, you will**:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Energy Division.
Lead the development and implementation of strategies, programs, regulatory frameworks and initiatives that underpin the long-term productivity growth and sustainability of Queensland's energy sector.
Provide high quality strategic advice and analysis, information and guidance to the Under Treasurer and Treasurer on policy, regulatory and compliance issues in relation to sustainable energy supply.
Ensure strong linkages are developed and enhanced with key stakeholders including electricity customers and industry to ensure coordinated and integrated policy and programs.
Represent the Government, Department and Under Treasurer in a range of forums that require a content-specific perspective ensuring the interests of the energy sector and the department are represented at the Energy and Climate Ministerial Council and other relevant forums.
Provide oversight and advice to support the Treasurer's responsibilities as minister of government-owned energy corporations.
Drive the delivery of services and portfolio commitments that meet the Government's priorities within budget allocation, meeting service standards and continuing to identify innovative efficiencies.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the senior executive and key staff in Treasury, Government Owned Corporations, other government agencies and stakeholders.
**What experience you will bring**:
A high-level understanding of energy policy, regulatory, and commercial issues, with the ability to lead large-scale strategic energy programs.
Significant executive-level experience in the energy or related sectors, with a strong grasp of the public sector's whole-of-government agenda.
Proven success as a leader in complex organisations, with a strong capacity to drive change, build capable teams, and foster innovation.
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills to shape policy and manage relationships.
