This role leads a multi-disciplinary team contributing to Queensland's economic prosperity through whole-of-government economic industry policy initiatives, jobs creation, high-value commercial and investment projects and high-performing Government Owned Corporations (GOCs) and government businesses.

The Industry, Investment and Commercial (IIC) group provides strong commercial focus to increase high value investment in Queensland through the attraction and facilitation of private sector investment. IIC provides strategic advice in relation tosignificant commercial and strategic investments; infrastructure and property transactions, along with major procurement; commercial risk management; and the performance of GOCs and government businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic advice in relation to major economic development policies and projects, significant commercial transactions, infrastructure and property developments, and private sector engagement. Develop strategies, drive change and deliver outcomes that contribute to economic development outcomes for Queensland. Lead an investment attraction and facilitation framework to increase and accelerate high-value private sector investment in Queensland. Deliver on the department's service delivery statement and targets to create new jobs and attract capital expenditure across Queensland. Ensure the successful implementation of significant funding and grant programs to attract high-value investment to Queensland. Provide strategic oversight, direction and advice to Shareholding Ministers in relation to the operation, supervision and performance of GOCs and government businesses. Develop high-level networks, maintain strong and effective relationships, and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders. Represent Treasury in complex and sensitive negotiations and consultations toachieve policy outcomes and progress Queensland's economic recovery.

Key Requirements
You will demonstrate outstanding judgement, high-level integrity, ethics and probity, strong agility to adapt to a constantly changing environment, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- A record of success as a leader in a large and complex organisation
- Expertise and knowledge in leading: o Development and implementation of complex industry, investment and commercial public policy frameworks and initiativeso Robust and influential public policy adviceo Large commercial and/or financial transactionso Fostering cross-sector collaborationo Developing innovative and creative solutions to complex issues
- Extensive expertise and experience in the successful delivery of significant and complex projects
- High-level political acumen and a strong background in navigating and managing highly complex stakeholder engagement and relationships
- A proven track record as an agent of change.
