**About the role**

We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Activities Officer based at our Adelaide Immigration Transit Accommodation site. In this role you will be expected to actively contribute to running the structured and unstructured programs for adults and ensure excellent levels of service in the assigned responsibilities. This is a key role in helping to maintain a positive and healthy community by providing recreational, education, life skills and leisure activities. You will communicate effectively with staff and detainees regarding activities and events to ensure detainees can access the activities of their choice efficiently.

- Experience in conducting structured and unstructured programs for adults
- Experience working with people from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds
- Ability to contribute to team objectives / monthly schedule planning
- Successful background in ensuring activities are meaningful
- Ability to develop processes and encourage detainee feedback
- Experience in planning appropriate resourcing for activities
- Accuracy in maintaining records of all activities that take place
- Requirements:_
- Cert III Level and experience in an associated discipline such as sports and recreation, social/community work and/or learning and development
- Obtain and maintain a current Australian Federal Police Clearance.
- Hold and maintain HLTAID009 Provide CPR (previously HLTAID001) and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (previously HLTAID003) certificates with at least 6 months currency on the certificate.
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check
- This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment as an essential selection component for this role. IE: Australian Federal Police Clearance, Current First Aid qualification, Working with Children check etc_**About Us**
