**Role Description/Criteria**
About the role:
The Technician is part of the Visual Art & STEM Learning Area which supports the mission, vision, and values of the College community. The role of the technician is to be responsible for assisting, as appropriate, in the delivery of the Visual Arts and STEM programs both in and out of the classroom, as well as assisting the teachers in the Art, and STEM Learning Areas with advice, support, preparation of class materials and setting up of each class. The successful applicant will report directly to the Visual Arts & Technology Leader and work alongside the passionate team committed to achieving positive learning outcomes for each student. The successful applicant will work across multiple secondary years levels.
The Visual Arts & STEM Technician will be responsible for:
Assisting the Visual Art & Technology and STEM Learning Leaders or their delegates with the effective delivery of programs and special projects.
Assisting in the development and creation of teaching resources.
Creating regular displays throughout the College of students completed work.
Undertaking the ongoing maintenance of rooms, materials and storerooms for the Learning Area in consultation with the relevant Learning Leaders.
Undertaking the ongoing maintenance and preparation of all machines, tools and equipment within the areas of the faculty i.e. 3D printer, Laser Cutter/Engraver and Kiln.
Adhering to all Child Safety legislation and College requirements.
The successful applicant will have:
Proven high level of work standards
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
High organisation skills
Ability to prioritise workloads
Ability to work as part of a small team
Demonstrated comprehensive level of oral and written communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Relevant qualifications/experience in an Artistic area
A current Working With Children Clearance and National Police Record History Check and is a suitable person to engage in child-connected work
