Job Title: Telecommunication Rigging Technician

Purpose

As a Telecommunications Rigger, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of telecommunication structures and infrastructure. As a part of a team, you are accountable to work effectively as a team member and ensure safety in the workplace at all times.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities
- Follow strict company and client procedures and policies to ensure work at height is carried out in safe manner.
- Responsible for ensuring company and client compliancy, maintaining licences and induction expiry dates.
- Interpret plans and drawings and provide advice on design drawings.
- Read work orders, work permits and safety instructions to determine nature and location of work, job instructions, safety requirements, hazard information and evacuation plan.
- Competent in the installation, maintenance and decommissioning of wireless telecommunication equipment.
- Build and erect guyed masts, towers and monopoles etc.
- Maintenance, upgrades and strengthening of structures and ancillary equipment.
- Prepare and install all RF related equipment eg. Antennas, feeders, microwaves.
- Perform microwave antenna alignment.
- Perform PIM & Sweep Tests.
- Conduct Site Surveys for job feasibility.
- Ability to fault find on existing installations.
- Planning lifts with safe working loads.
- Assist with capturing photos and data for HOP’s.
- Immediate report any injury, incident or “near miss” encountered to Line Manager and OHS Coordinator.
- Request overtime approval in advance from Line Manager.

- Tower Rescue
- Construction White Card
- Working At Heights Certificate
- First Aid and CPR Licence
- Radhaz RF EME Awareness
- Drivers Licence

- Rope Access Tickets
- (HR) Heavy Vehicle Licence
- Forklift Licence
- (CV) Vehicle Loading Crane Licence

Experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience within the Telecommunication industry;
- Minimum of 3 years rigging experience and working at heights.
- Sound experience in understanding WHS requirements and responsibilities - including SWMS, MOP’s, JSA’s
- Experience reading and interpreting design drawings
- Be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite

**Skills**:

- Proficient in the use of cranes and EWP’s. Identifying plant size and type applicable for any given task.
- Ability to work comfortably at heights of up to 200m using tools of the trade and correct rigging techniques.
- Awareness of OH&S requirements
- Leadership and motivational skills
- Good Interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work well under pressure individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously

- Timeous & Accurate Replicon entries (daily) including Hours, Projects, Leave
- All Inductions up to date
- Ensure all individual equipment Test & Tagging is current
- Achieve builds on time per Line Manager requirements
- OHS Compliance, Zero Tolerance & Zero Incidents
- Complete builds with Zero NCR’s
