**The Role**
The Chinook Assistant Program Manager within the Chinook Helicopter Manager Unit (CHMU) is responsible to the Chinook Program Manager (PM CH-47) for managing the performance of CH-47F acquisition and sustainment outcomes against formal agreements with Army.

The Assistant Program Manager key duties will be:

- Responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure a high-level of integration and consistency in the management of projects and products within Defence Capability Programs.
- Accountable for managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people.
- Responsible for planning and managing allocated resources, setting program priorities, workflows, work area strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
- Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of program strategies, plans and risks, enabling delivery and reporting on the requirements and expectations of the management of Defence assets.
- Provide strategic direction and clearly articulate goals to achieve program, project and product objectives in accordance with Defence policies and procedures.
- Build and sustain productive working relationships between Defence groups, and industry to support Defence Capability Programs.
- Engage, negotiate and sustain working relationships on very complex issues to understand and influence the stakeholder requirements.
- Analyse and implement program management options that achieve optimal use of Defence assets.
- Drive change management strategies and provide clear direction to manage performance and meet program delivery schedules.

**About our Team**
The Cargo Helicopter and Uncrewed Surveillance Program Office (CHUSPO) delivers through-life support for the CH-47F Chinook and Army Aviation System Branch supported fleet of Uncrewed Aerial Systems. The Program Office is made up of a Cargo Helicopter Management Unit (CHMU), an Uncrewed Aerial Systems Management Unit (UASMU), an Army Uncrewed Aerial Systems Project Office (AUASPO), an Engineering Management Unit, and a Business Management Unit (BMU).

CHMU is the CASG organisation responsible for providing sustainment (product, engineering, logistics and contracting) support, and limited acquisition activities for the Army’s Cargo Helicopter (CH) capability, the CH-47F Chinook. The Program Management team are responsible for the management and execution of the CH-47F sustainment and acquisition agreements with Army and suppliers.

CHUSPO is looking for an energetic and motivated CH-47F Assistant Program Manager. Key attributes and experience we are looking for include:

- Managing an integrated team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing to ensure effective contract and procurement outcomes are achieved.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Forecast, plan and manage sustainment and projects budgets including preparation of monthly, bi-annual and annual reporting requirements.
- Plan, lead and manage the development, implementation and maintenance of business plans and instructions and undertaking audits to assurance conformance and relevance.
- Assess and evaluate the impact of proposed changes to policies, processes and procedures on governance arrangements and outcomes.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, work well autonomously and use initiatives in a team environment to progress work tasking to the required outcome.
