**Position Information**:
The Crescent School is a school for specific purposes catering for the needs of students with moderate and severe intellectual and physical disability, Autism, challenging behaviours, and sensory impairment. At present our school has an enrolment of 83 students, with 18% of our students identifying as Aboriginal. The school currently has eight classes from K-12 for students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, and four classes in the Murranga Murranga Learning Centre for K-12 students with social and emotional disabilities, including students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Our school is a proud member of the Goulburn Community of Public Schools. Students from Goulburn and the surrounding area are offered enrolment at our school through a district level placement panel process.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach Hearing Impairment (Itinerant). Expertise in or willingness to train in AUSLAN and assistive communication systems and demonstrated experience teaching students from Early Intervention through to Higher School Certificate level.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, evaluate, and mentor a team of Itinerant Support Teachers Hearing and an understanding of the administrative requirements for managing the itinerant role.
- Proven experience in working with families, schools, and external agencies to build strong relationships with all stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for students.
- Knowledge of the complex learning needs of students with hearing impairment and ability to deliver specific professional learning to the Itinerant Support Teacher Hearing team and school staff.
**General Selection Criteria**:
- 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy**Conditions**:
Ability and willingness to travel between worksites.
